Otto Laske’s

Algorithmic Composition Workshop

Now available for your academic institution

Composers Otto Laske and Michael Rhoades have teamed up to devise and teach a curriculum designed to disseminate Laske’s unique and dynamic approach to Algorithmic Composition. The workshop is available in a one or two week format and can follow one of two tracks. The first utilizes KYMA™ and Csound/Cmask, Laske's current compositional environment. The second is a Csound/Cmask environment, developed by Rhoades, designed to parallel Laske's process in locations where Kyma™ is not available.

Laske's internationally known systemic approach to Algorithmic Composition is the culmination of nearly forty years of research, collaboration and development. Through the benefit of his experience, composers of electroacoustic music at all levels are challenged and encouraged to extend their own experience, thus continuing the development of the dynamic art of Algorithmic Composition to future generations.

Anyone interested in hosting such a workshop is encouraged to communicate via e-mail oelaske@earthlink.net or mrhoades@perceptionfactory.com. You can also visit Laske’s web site at www.emf.org/subscribers/laske/ or Rhoades' at www.perceptionfactory.com.
